Taking part in a running event is an amazing way to raise money for Willen Hospice. Not only will it keep you on target for your fitness goals, but there’s nothing like the atmosphere of a mass participation event. We will even give you a Willen Hospice t-shirt to train and run in!

Big Cow is a local company offering a range of running events in Milton Keynes throughout the year. From their Newport Pagnell Carnival 5K, Cattle Creepy 10k, Duathlons, Winter half-marathon and more, they have got a run for everyone.
If you are a local runner, then the Milton Keynes Marathon is an obvious choice for a top running event to take part in. With a distance to suit everyone, from 5Ks to full marathons, or the popular team relay option, it is well worth having a look.

Perfect for beginners looking for a mass participation event, the Vitality 10K is a great for anyone aiming to complete a 10k. This event has a great atmosphere and as you run you can take in the sights of London, including Admiralty Arch, Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, Mansion House, the Bank of England, the Old Bailey, Somerset House, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey! Or, if you prefer, you can choose to run it virtually.
The Big Half, 4 September (charity places available)
The Big Half offers a 13.1 mile route with a festival atmosphere, taking in the sights of London and celebrating the city’s diversity. You can sign up yourself and choose to run for Willen Hospice, letting us know by completing this short form, or you can apply for a charity place.
Bedford Running Festival, 2 – 4 September (charity places available)
If you are not ready for the MK Marathon in May, then the Bedford Running Festival is another great, local option. With 5k, 10K, half-marathon and 20 miles routes (perfect training for London Marathon runners) there’s a run for all abilities.
Great North Run, 11 September (charity places available)
Hot on the heels of the London Marathon, this is one of the UK’s most popular running events. If you’ve been successful in this year’s ballot and want to run for Willen Hospice, please complete this short form.
We’ve teamed up with Big Cow Events to bring you our own Run for Willen 5K. If you want to stretch your legs a bit further there is also a 10k option, and a full and half marathon option on Sunday 2 October. Find out more and enter here.

This iconic central London Half Marathon takes in some of the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
Organised by our friends at Big Cow Events, the MK Winter Half is a great event for anyone wanting to achieve their running resolutions before the year is out and the Christmas festivities begin.
