Be part of the Captain Tom 100

We’re so excited about the amazing Captain Tom 100 challenge, taking place from 30 April – 3 May. Fundraisers across the world are invited to join in by dreaming up their own ‘100’ to mark what would have been our incredible hero’s 101st birthday.

Captain Sir Tom united the nation and inspired hope when the country needed it most, telling us “Tomorrow will be a good day”.  He and his family launched The Captain Tom Foundation, to make sure his message of hope would become an enduring legacy to inspire a new generation of Captain Toms.

The Foundation is very close to our hearts here at Willen Hospice. Captain Sir Tom’s family have supported us for a number of years and we were thrilled when they named us as one of the first four charity partners to benefit from the Foundation’s work. Already, the money donated to us through the Foundation has allowed us to develop our social care service for children and families; an area that is much needed to provide emotional support, reassurance and practical help for those who discover a loved one has an end of life diagnosis. We are so grateful to be able to offer this holistic, tailored support, thanks to the Foundation

How to get involved in the Captain Tom 100

1. Dream up your Captain Tom 100 challenge!
You could walk 100 steps or run 100 metres, score 100 goals, bake 100 cakes, climb 100 stairs, hop 100 laps of the garden, build 100 sandcastles, write a 100-word poem, or flip 100 pancakes – anything at all, inside or outside. It’s open to all ages and abilities and the choices are endless.

2. Choose your charity
You can pick any charity to benefit from your fundraising and we would love you to choose Willen Hospice to benefit from your ‘100’. Find us on JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving when you set up your fundraising page.

4. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you

5. Complete your 100 challenge any time between Friday 30 April and Monday 3 May.

To get started, simply visit www.captaintom100.com and don’t forget to share your 100 on social media using #CaptainTom100
