Up to 37.5 hours per week, 6-12 mth fixed term contract
Salary £24,478– £31,822 per annum pro rata, depending on experience (Band C1)
A new and exciting opportunity for a qualified Counsellor to join the Therapeutic and Wellbeing Service and support families who have been bereaved during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The role is based at the hospice in Milton Keynes, within the Psychological Wellbeing Team, and would provide a counselling service for bereaved families in the local area. The role includes assessing referrals; providing assessments alongside delivering skilful and compassionate counselling in groups, individually and supervising volunteers.
The successful candidate will hold a Counselling qualification (at least to degree level, ideally post graduate level 6); will be a member of BACP or member of UKCP, with accreditation (or working towards accreditation). Ideally we would look for experience of working in palliative care and bereavement counselling, ideally with clients across the lifespan.
You will be self-motivated with strong communication skills to help lead and support the continued development of this evolving service, and work across and within a multi-disciplinary team.
As the role will include working within the local community, you should be confident working alone and must hold a driving license and have access to a car.
In return for your skills, you can expect to join a caring team working beside a beautiful lakeside location, generous annual leave entitlement starting at 35 days pro rata (inclusive of statutory and bank holidays), free onsite parking, pension scheme, enhanced maternity, adoption and sick pay provision and excellent catering facilities at the Hospice.
