On Sunday 13 December, ‘dashing’ Santas were seen all over Milton Keynes and beyond, as part of the Willen Hospice annual Santa Dash. The annual event was redesigned to fit in with current Government Guidelines.

This year, instead of their usual lakeside event, participants were sent their Santa Suits in the post, and ran, walked or jogged as far as they wanted from their own homes. It was a wet and windy day, but that didn’t get the Dasher’s spirits down, embracing the rain and mud – even Willen Hospice’s CEO, Peta Wilkinson, donned a Santa Suit and ran up and down her drive with her two dogs! Despite things being different this year, an amazing £9,000 was raised for the Hospice.

Tracey Jago, Events Manager, said “The money raised will make a huge difference to the Hospice and the local people they care for. It’s been a really challenging year, with lots of out events having to be adapted or cancelled, so we really appreciate our supporters still taking part and raising a fantastic amount of money.”

As the Santa Dash is virtual this year, the charity has kept it open so people can still dash all the way up to Christmas – even on Christmas day if they want! Find out more and sign up here.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, Brioche Pasquier UK, Mercedes, and energie Fitness Kiln Farm, for leading the warm up and supporting the event.
