Willen Hospice is a very special place where we give people the best possible care at the toughest time of their lives. We do everything we can so that people feel relief from pain and families can enjoy the precious moments they have left with each other. In the midst of all the exhaustion, the pain and the grief, we are there to care.
We provide the best quality and heartfelt care for terminally ill people. It’s provided by highly skilled professional doctors, nurses, counsellors and many others – and it is free to every patient and family member who needs us. We can only do this because of the support of local people.
All of our patients are given a personal care plan and are treated as a special part of the Willen Hospice family. We work closely with GPs, hospitals, community nursing staff and social workers to make sure that our specialist care is practical, informed and supportive at all levels. Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the pain and symptoms. We give compassionate, specialist support to patients and their family members, to help deal with both the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.
We put patients who are living with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the heart of everything we do, providing compassionate care in a friendly, peaceful environment. We can’t change our patients’ diagnosis, but we can help improve their quality of life, as they come to terms with their illness. We help them to live as well as they can and listen to their needs – at our Hospice on Willen Lake and in their own homes.
