A legacy or gift is a donation of money or property, that you may decide to leave to us in your Will.

By leaving a gift to us in your Will, you will be making a decision that helps us be there to care for many generations of patients long into the future.

Over the 40 years that we have existed, the legacies that people have generously left to us, have meant that we could expand and adapt our services to evolve with the growing need in our local area, offering more support where it’s needed most, and making an incredible difference. Our current Building a Legacy project is an example of the incredible difference legacy donations can make.

Your gift will help us to commit to the long-term projects that are needed to continue our vital work, and give us certainty that we can continue caring for people for decades to come.

How your gift helps our patients

Your gift will help us fund the care, comfort and support that we give to our patients and their families, completely free of charge.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ll be able to carry on giving calm, compassionate care to people who are facing a life limiting illness. You’ll be helping us to give them relief from pain and anxiety and enjoy the precious moments they have left with their family and friends at the most difficult time of their lives.

Including us in your Will

You can write your Will with one of our partners throughout the year. In May and October our partners waive their usual fees in return for a suggested minumum donation to Willen Hospice and will give you an opportunity to make a pledge. If you decide to leave a gift in your Will to us, please include our name, address, and registered charity number:

Our promise to you

• We will offer support to help you, but never put you under pressure because we understand this is an important decision for you.
• You do not have to tell us of your decision. We would love to hear from you if you leave a gift, and we will always respect and honour your privacy.
• We will use your gift carefully and effectively, and where it will have the most impact and we’ll answer your questions as quickly and honestly as we can.
• We will be there for your loved ones and family if they should need us in future.
