We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to rotate between our In-Patient Unit and Willen at Home community team on a 12-month fixed term contract. At Willen Hospice, it’s all about giving our patients the best possible quality of life, the support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, with at least 6 months post registration experience who will have responsibility for the assessment of patient needs, planning, delivering and evaluating patient care, playing an active role within our teams.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working in the community and ideally have previous experience in palliative care.
As the role is part community based you should be confident working alone, must hold a driving licence, own your own car and have the appropriate insurance to cover your vehicle for business use.
Our IPU is operational 24 hours, 7 days a week and our Willen at Home service operates between 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.
As this post is rotational, we are looking for candidates who can offer flexibility in working night shifts and weekends.
Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. Our person centred care is delivered with compassion and respect for people’s wishes. We have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy.
