Community Fundraising and Events Volunteers

Make a difference as a Community Fundraising volunteer

Every day we meet people who have incredible stories to tell, about how Willen Hospice has touched the lives of their friends or families.

Many of these people are fundraising for us in their own homes, at work or in their community groups. We need volunteers who can help us to provide encouragement and recognition to our supporters.

Some of the community-arranged events include fireworks displays, markets, summer fairs, street parades and bucket collections.

Willen Hospice also organises a full programme of exciting events throughout the year.  Without our amazing network of volunteers, we simply couldn’t manage to host these large scale events without extra help. They are vital in raising the funds that pay for our specialist care.

As Christmas approaches, we are entering a time of fun, festive activities where we always need volunteers. There’s no greater gift than your gift of time, to help us make our fundraising events as successful as possible.

If you’re interested in any of our volunteering roles, please fill in the form below, call Nikki on 01908 303071 or email: communityfundraising@willen-hospice.org.uk

The role of a Community Fundraiser

Your time commitment will be on an ad-hoc basis in blocks of two to four hours at a time. The role can encompass a wide range of skills – from photographers to musicians to drivers and much more. Please contact us if you are interested in helping us. Email: communityfundraising@willen-hospice.org.uk

The role of a Community Fundraising Office Volunteer

This role is more office-based and involves helping us to organise, distribute and collect fundraising resources, and to assist the Community Fundraising team in supporting community events. It also includes general admin tasks and being the point of contact for Ambassadors and Fundraising Volunteers. Please contact us if you are interested in helping us. Email: communityfundraising@willen-hospice.org.uk

The role of an Ambassador

This is a role that existing Willen Hospice fundraisers can fulfil. Duties will include attending community events as representatives of the Hospice, receiving cheques and donations at events, speaking for Willen Hospice at events and thanking community supporters in person. Ambassadors will attend quarterly briefings with our Community Fundraising team.

Our Ambassadors are an extension of the team in spreading the news about all the work that Willen Hospice does for the community. Meet our Ambassadors and find out more.

To register your interest in becoming an Ambassador, please email Nikki.poole@willen-hospice.org.uk

Could you help us with bucket collections?

We are privileged to have good relationships with certain supermarkets who permit us to have stands outside their stores to collect money.  You may think a £1 here, or a 50p there, wouldn’t raise much money, but it all helps, and with a contactless payment option, it’s even easier for people to give. Over Blue Week each year we raise several thousand pounds out in our community. However, we can’t do it with you.  If you could spare an hour or two to help, please let us know your availability by emailing communityfundraising@willen-hospice.org.uk
