Our vision and values

Our vision

Our vision at Willen Hospice, is to be the lasting and thriving provider of free care to all people affected by life limiting illness in our community of Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.

This is made possible by a community working together continually to share in the delivery of the most assuring, equally accessible and advanced care available.

Our values

Our values are important to us and are at the heart of everything we do at Willen Hospice.

Compassion
We make time for people, are supportive and treat people with dignity. We always strive to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere and will proactively seek feedback to improve performance.

Ambition
We strive to develop our skills to meet peoples’ needs. We set ourselves aspirational goals and proactively seek further knowledge and skills. We look for solutions not barriers and are courageous in trying out and embracing new ideas.

Respect
We always show respect to our colleagues and service users. We are inclusive and value diversity. We earn trust and give others our trust. We are thoughtful, transparent, open and honest in our communication with others and seek to understand what others feel is important to them.

Excellence
We are professional at all times, take responsibility and are accountable for our actions. We are responsive, solution focused, flexible and adaptable. We do what we say we are going to and are rigorous in meeting the standards required for our area. Read more about how we achieve excellence at Willen Hospice.

My husband Ray passed away recently under the wonderful care of Willen. He was given love, care and dignity by every member of staff at all times. The staff have been truly handpicked! Me and my family found it a place of calm, rest, warmth and comfort at the most nightmarish time of our lives. We were given such consideration and respect always. My husband was also and more importantly taken great care of and with the familiarity and closeness that had grown between him, the nurses and lovely kitchen staff looked after like family. Thank you Willen for giving Ray and all his family so much more than any other service could ever!”
