Corporate Volunteering

Use your volunteer days to engage your teams and make a difference

Volunteering with colleagues helps you to get to know each other outside of work. You will be strengthening and developing a range of leadership and problem solving skills to achieve a common goal. It gives you a brand new perspective, and you’ll find that by helping others, you almost always feel better about yourself.

Ingram Micro (pictured alongside) recently brought in a team of colleagues from various areas in their organisation, to volunteer in our Grafton Gate donations area. They described how it gave them an opportunity to connect with each other in a relaxed setting, do something good for charity and feel a great sense of reward.

We value the skills and experience that your team members can share with us. Claire (pictured below) volunteered with Willen Hospice by working in one of our retail shops when she was furloughed during lockdown. She continued to support us by sourcing a multitude of new items that we were able to sell in our eBay shop, to raise funds. Read her remarkable story here.

“It gave me purpose. It’s not that I didn’t have any before but it gave me another reason to get up in the morning”

What volunteering opportunities are there?

  • We can offer you regular, structured volunteering opportunities for teams of between 4 and 20 staff, to help us process incoming donated goods for our twelve retail shops. Your team will be given a short induction at the start of the day, before they roll up their sleeves and to sort through donated goods. Our team and company challenges to sort the most bags, result in some healthy competition to top the leaderboard!
  • Your colleagues could support our eBay team by photographing and listing items for sale, packaging and preparing items for posting.
  • In our Furniture Shop at Kiln Farm, we house a large amount of furniture, but we often need support from volunteers to help move items,  create interesting and attractive room displays, or assemble flat packs.
  • Your volunteering could include activities like gardening, decorating, serving tea to patients, wrapping gifts for carers or cheering on participants at an event.
