Milton Keynes has some wonderful Christmas events and local traditions which many of our colleagues and volunteers have grown up with and are now continuing with their own children.

Central Milton Keynes

It just wouldn’t be an MK Christmas without a visit to the Christmas display in Middleton Hall in Centre: MK, it’s hard to believe that since last Christmas, Willen Hospice now have FOUR city centre shops! To add to our more traditional charity shop and coffee shop downstairs in The Point, we now have our newly opened Willen Hospice Select store in the iconic pyramid upstairs.

Select showcases some of our luxury, unique and antique buys and offers local people the chance to buy in store before these items are added to our online auction store, eBay, Depop and Vestiaire.

Moving down the Boulevard to Midsummer Place our dedicated Music shop, Off The Record is the perfect place to pick up the soundtrack to your MK Christmas whether that is Shakin’ Stevens or classic Christmas carols!

Speaking of Midsummer Place, we are honoured to have three amazing  Trees sponsored by local businesses in the Midsummer Place Christmas Festival, Please vote for Trees 5, 10 and 16 here:

If you are heading with your family to watch Cinderella at MK Theatre during this year’s topsy turvy school holidays, why not schedule in a trip to The Hangout at Xcsape with your mini-gamers?

Christmas Lights

Our Willen Hospice shops will be open for your local high street’s Christmas Light switch on event-make sure you pop in for your Scenes of MK Christmas cards, gifts, wrapping and tags and decorations.

The incredible residents Kennington Close in Great Linford know a thing or two about Christmas Lights! For many years, this generous group have lit up their street to raise money for Willen Hospice. It is an incredibly popular local community event lighting up MK from 1 December, Team Willen will be there on opening night and on 22 December before our very busy community fundraising team and our festive volunteers swap their buckets for stockings and spend time their own families.

Christmas Magic at the Hospice

Closer to our Willen family, an exciting new Christmas event has launched this year, Willen on Ice, our friends and neighbours at Gulliver’s Land Resort play host to their amazing Land of Lights event and one of our favourite events of the year, Carols at the Cathedral will be taking place on 10 December and we look forward to seeing you there.

If you are nearby at an event, please stop by and experience some of the magic in our hospice gardens. Santa will be taking up residence in our Grotto on 9-10 and every day from 16 to 22 December between 10am and 4pm and our Santa Dash fundraiser is taking place on Sunday 17 December. By vising the hospice you help us to bring the MK Christmas we know and love to our patients and their families who are staying with us.
