We’re thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Special Recognition for Collaboration award in MK Community Foundation’s Carole Baume Awards 2024.

Together with MacIntyre, a local charity supporting people with a learning disability and/or autism, we’ve helped to address the inequality in who accesses our services and how, looking specifically at learning disabilities and autism.

Through the partnership, we identified where the knowledge and skills gaps were in our teams, aiming to address these through education and sharing best practice, so we can understand how to support those with a learning disability in our care. This has opened up shared learning opportunities, helping both of our organisations to advocate for patients with a learning disability and support them at the Hospice.

Working together helps us achieve shared goals and better ourselves as an organisation. It’s an incredible honour to be recognised for the hard work of teams from both the Hospice and MacIntyre. A huge well done to all involved in this project and the ongoing partnership.
