Our dedicated music shop, Off The Record, located in Midsummer Place is to be the very first charity shop to take part in UK Record Store Day.

Record Store Day (RSD) is an annual event which sees independent record shops come together to celebrate a love of music with limited releases from a range of major artists. This year’s RSD will be held on Saturday 20 April and our Off The Record team are incredibly excited to be a part of this worldwide event.

In addition to  selling limited releases,  the team will be celebrating by hosting a live music line up in store throughout the day. In anticipation of a busy day as the only  destination for Record Store Day in Milton Keynes, Midsummer Place will open at 6am.

The shop will open at 8am and the number of shoppers will be limited to ensure people have the space they need to browse. Customers will be limited to one copy of each LP and a list of stock will be updated throughout the day.  Of course, there will still be the usual Off the Record range of pre-loved and new music.

Leila Blaize-Smith, Willen Hospice Retail Lead for New Shops said,

“We are excited and proud to be the first charity shop to ever take part in Record Store Day. It is a really challenging time for charities at the moment. We’ve had to be innovative with how we raise almost £6 million every year to fund specialist, compassionate care for the community. Part of that innovation has been opening bespoke shops, and we have been overwhelmed by the success of our music store which only opened in Midsummer Place in August last year. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing community and we are looking forward to welcoming them on Record Store Day.”
