You may heard us talk about one of our lovely Willen Hospice supporters, Wes. He is an incredibly supportive friend of Willen and certainly not afraid of challenge!

Wes is a keen runner and is due to complete his fiftieth half marathon in July, his very first was back in March 2010 and he always receives a warm welcome to the many of our running events ever since.

For many of us, an accomplishment of fifty half marathons would be enough to hang up our trainers, but not Wes! Seeing number fifty on the horizon has inspired him to launch his latest fundraising running challenge “The road to 100”.

Wes has set himself a personal challenge to run 100 lifetime half marathons for Willen Hospice and has estimated when he crosses the finish line of one number one hundred he would have then run over a thousand miles for Willen Hospice. The target set for completion is spring 2027 and so Wes is allowing three to four years for this challenge.

Wes has always been such a supportive member of Team Willen, offering advice and positive messages fellow fundraisers and he often describes taking part as “being part of the Willen Family” which extends far beyond the event itself.

If you are able to support Wes in his fundraising you can do so via his fundraising page here.

If  feel inspired to run for Willen, you can find out all about our running events here.
