We had such a ball recently at our Midsummer Place shop in Central Milton Keynes with these two amazing young volunteers who helped us to showcase our range of Prom dresses, shoes and accessories we have in store.
You may have unwittingly walked by our shop at Midsummer Place, it is a charity shop like no other and we are rather proud of that!
The store neither looks, nor feels, like any of our other thirteen charity shops you’ll find across Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. If you are one of our supporters with a keen eye you’ll have spotted the signage simply displays our distinctive Swan logo and if you’ve visited inside you’ll know the vibrant walls pop with bright colours and help to tell our story.
The retail space is uniquely located inside a premium shopping arcade rather than a high street and back in 2021 the empty, former Northface store was gifted to Willen Hospice by Midsummer Place to aid our recovery post-pandemic.
The shop raises funds for Willen Hospice by directing their focus on fashion, shoes and accessories. All fashion items are handpicked for their unique style and quality by our wonderful Lisa at our warehouse and by the store management team Lee, John and Joanna.
It’s a small space but beautifully curated to showcase the best pre-loved and new items that have been donated by our amazing community. There’s also a seating area and changing room. Much of the shop’s success is down to the knowledge and passion for fashion that our colleagues and volunteers have.
Team leader, Lee knew that many customers would be shopping for Prom outfits during the Easter Holidays, but wanted to make sure the parents of Milton Keynes knew that Prom dresses were available in store at an affordable price, in a sustainable way.
Thanks to the lovely Amelia and Matilda, we were able to make it happen. 
Better still, every dress, piece of jewellery and pair of shoes purchased not only helps to make amazing memories but also makes a difference to the families we care for.
