Willen Hospice Event organisers have been overwhelmed by the response to their first every Teddy Bear Hunt, which took place over the Easter half-term.

Over the two-week break, the charity hid 20 teddy bears around Willen Lake. Families paid £5 to play, which also include one free entry into a prize drawer. The event raised an incredible £9,300 for the charity, with over 1,000 families signing up.

Families said…

“Thank you for supplying such a lovely activity for us to complete during this Easter Break, my two children really enjoyed it and the bears were beautiful.”

“My daughters had such a lovely day taking part in your Teddy hunt today with their friends. It was really well organised and so lovely that the teddies were positioned away from the hustle and bustle of Willen Lake. We just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work as we’ve had such a fab start to our Easter holidays!”

“My daughter had great fun yesterday completing the Teddy bear hunt trail! It was fantastic, really well organised and kept us entertained for many hours.”

“Thank you for organising the most BRILLIANT teddy bear hunt ever, we had the best time today doing it!”

Tracey Jago, Events manager said, “We have loved seeing local families playing our Teddy Bear Hunt. We achieved exactly what we wanted with this event – raising vital funds to support the Hospice during this challenging time, and giving children and their families something fun to do outside after spending so many months indoors over the winter.

We will definitely be doing this again next Easter, but possibly with a different theme. Keep an eye on our social media and website early 2022 for more details.”

The charity’s next family-friendly event is their annual Mini-Moo, on Sunday 11 July. Children ages 3 – 11 can walk, scoot, or run (ages 4+), one or two laps of Willen Lake North. They can choose to do one challenge, or all three – their own mini-triathlon. Find out more and book here.
